The first version of Scriven Labs was a Zoom plugin. We killed it. The rebuild is a paired desktop app, and the reasons trace straight back to what the product has to guarantee.

Why the plugin had to go

A meeting-platform bot means a marketplace review gate, a bot visible in the call, and a bill per meeting. Worse, it blurs who said what. Scriven Labs has to attribute every word to the right person to keep each memory private and each nudge grounded. A single shared bot stream can't do that cleanly.

What replaced it

A small app that sits on each person's laptop and captures that person's own microphone. Exact speaker attribution comes for free, because each stream is one person. Nothing joins the call, there is no marketplace to review, and the product works on any meeting platform, or none at all.

It also holds the line that Scriven Labs never emits audio into a meeting. It captures your microphone to build your memory; it writes back to you privately. The desktop pivot isn't a smaller version of the bot. It's the version that can actually keep the promises.
